red bubbles of solitude
lil ferns of sand and fate
remains of the rain
that swept us past
a hurricane superfly

Lots of speaking images in this poem...And all speak of a defeat that couldn't be avoided, like fate itself. A defeat leading to maybe destruction and death too.
